Sorry for the stupid question but i get this humming noise that tends to happen more when its warmer and it stays constant unless i dip the clutch and rev the engine or put my foot down to accelerate but i dont get any other noise like in the video there. I have an Astra J GTC with the 2.0 165cdti. Also what is this solenoid for? What is its function? Thank you

The driver wasn't stuck, he was just faced with an awkward blindside reverse off a busy road. He handled it fantastically.

I know this was like years ago… but being in the industry myself I can say that if there is heavy traffic and your trying to back in somewhere…. And believe me most places are tight…it can cause you to mess up.. everyone does at some point… other folks on the road have no patience and won’t wait or just don’t give you room… the job we do is far from easy and every day is full of pressure and stress… but people need to eat… people need to eat as cheap as possible even more so these days… they could send smaller trucks.. but that will then be reflected in the price in the shops…. Aldi for example is cheap because the drivers don’t just drive.. they load and unload the truck so it saves you the buyer money… tescos used one big truck instead of two trucks…this all helps to keep cost down… sometimes we get stuck… a lot of the time we wait on motorways because a car crashed.. Sometimes it happens when we are running out of time and we get infringements/fines of astronomical amounts if we go over do something wrong…. Hell we can even get sent to prison for messing up on the job all while trying to make sure you and your family don’t have to go without.. a lot of the time we can’t get into a delivery because cars are parked outside so we can’t make the manoeuvre.. when I see vids like this it makes sense why folks are leaving the industry.. maybe folks should start growing there own food… making there own clothes.. making there own fuel for there cars etc…making there own parts for the car… maybe even make your own car…after all doing that wouldn’t be such an inconvenience out of your busy busy days would it… think about it.. we would have less work and everyone would be happy…. Absolutely everything you have ever purchased from any shop here in the uk got there buy truck… the bread you eat.. the ingredients came in on a truck… they took it to the bakery.. another truck supplies the fuel that is used to create the electricity that power the factory that bakes the bread & heats your home etc… everything is moved by truck… yet every day… someone complains at how much of an inconvenience we are… that’s like spitting on the waiter that brings your food… it’s crap like this that made drivers leave in the first place… they got sick of the abuse on a daily basis…constantly told how shit of a driver they are because they fuck up once in a while…how long would you stay in a job where your constantly slagged off…

I know this is an old video, but do you know what effect it would have if you fitted the updated part into a system that already had the dealer "fix" fitted? I had the same issue, so I replaced the buzzing unit for the updated unit, and it solved the problem. But now it's experiencing flat spots and a DPF warning. After some research it could be a split in the boost hose, or the solenoid has failed again. After checking to see if the dealer "fix" had been carried out, I couldn't see it anywhere near the solenoid. However, much further along the vacuum hose, there does appear to be something that matches the image in the manufacturers "fix" fitted. So assuming the fix from Vauxhall was carried out, added to the updated solenoid fitted by me, could this be the cause of my issues?

hello , first clean selenoid valve with brake clean spray then dry it. Last step ; Use silicone lubricate spray into 3 hole, then it stop farting sound.

Why are people so intent on trying to publicly shame drivers? Thanks for playing a small part toward people not wanting to come into the industry.

Hia, we've had ours changed twice in as many years, after just checking under the bonnet looks like we've got the new one, which has just started to make the drone noise, and therefore we are expecting to change it again, ours seems to be happening yearly, will the additional vacuum reservoir with the new solenoid possibly cure this problem, cheers, Mark

I ordered and changed the valve with the upgraded one(pierburg) and after about 2 years it seems like the problem reappeared..I think I ll put the vacuum reservoir this time. Had anyone else had an issue with the updated part? Thanks

I am about to change my third upgraded wastegate solenoid , in the last 18mth. don't think they sorted the problem. Any ideas what else could be causing the problem please. Take care.

Hey there, I’ve started to have an issue with mine also. The vac line seems to keep popping off the valve, never done it in the 4years of having the car. The other day it was 3 times it’s came off after going to a couple of shops. I’ve tie wrapped it in place for now. Could this need changing also as I say never an issue until now.

If you flick the latch and it doesnt make the vibration noise does that mean it doesnt need replaced?

Is this just a straight swap or do the pipes need to be bent to allow the new part to be fitted ?

How long does the burning in last? Does it fade within 30 seconds with a new application?

Im not bragging (Well maybe a tiny little bit) But that was not a particularly difficult looking blind side reverse shunt! The mess the driver made on the grass verge suggests to me hes a new and or, in-experienced driver in my humbled opinion! Not at all hard to get into that situation. David Tyler is spot on with his comments. I've done a bit of delivering for Tescos in artics and in rigids, and it can be a complete nightmare, especially when car drivers park in daft places.
